Personal Service Since 1964
Elwood E. Brown, Inc. is proud of its reputation for personal service and quality work. No residential or light commercial job is too big or small for us with our 150 year combined experience.
July, 1998
The company incorporated and became known as Elwood E. Brown, Inc. Five years later, Steve became President of the corporation. Today, Steve is busy running after materials and dealing with customers on a daily basis. He takes pride in continuing the “Personal Service” that he saw his father do so well. Elwood is still active in the company and can be found checking out leads and generating job estimates.
In The 1970’s
Elwood’s son Steve joined his Dad at work during summer vacations and on weekends. In 1980 when Steve graduated from Milton Area High School, he became a third generation carpenter at Elwood E. Brown, Building Contractor. Shortly after Steve joined the company, Raymond retired.
1955 to 1964
Elwood E. Brown, founder of Elwood E. Brown, Building Contractor, worked for a local contractor, except for 2 years when he was drafted to serve in the Army.
Elwood and his father, Raymond, built a reputation for quality work by performing additional contracting jobs in the evenings and on weekends. Elwood decided to branch out on his own and tried to entice his father to work for him. Raymond, however, had a good job and wanted to wait and see if Elwood’s venture succeeded before he committed to it. Four years later, he went to work for his son.
